Homeless teen ages out of foster care then finds birth sister & has his life changed by her new family

It’s difficult enough to be a child who has been abandoned, orphaned, or forced to live without their biological parents. Failed adoption attempts can only make the situation worse.

The majority of youngsters growing up in the US foster system have just one hope in life: to one day find a true family to call their own.

Unfortunately, this never occurs for a lot of kids. Around 20,000 youngsters are thought to leave the foster care system each year. This implies that they are left on their own to start over.

When Seth Miller officially became an adult a few years ago, he was faced with this reality since he could no longer rely on the foster care system.

Seth, who had been given up for adoption as a toddler and had later had a painful failed adoption, spent roughly ten years in unsatisfactory foster homes.

This continued until he reached adulthood, at which point he realized he had no one to turn to.

He was forced to live in a car and became homeless at the age of just 18.

He described this in an interview with USA Today: “Empty, alone, nowhere to kind of fit in […] just an everyday kind of life, nothing really special to look forward to.”

He only wanted a decent family to call his own.

And then, seemingly by magic, a chain of occurrences began that would forever alter Seth’s life.

Things began to change for Seth in 2013 when his court-appointed special advocate persuaded Robert and Ara Hunt to meet the youngster.

Shyann Hunt, Seth’s biological sister, had been adopted by the Hunt family.

They were first afraid to meet Seth, but they eventually overcame their trepidation and took the risk.

Ara Hunt stated, “When we let go of the fears, we found eternity.

In fact, the couple made arrangements for Shyann to meet her brother, who they had no idea even existed, and the reunion was, to put it mildly, emotional.

From that point on, everything happened just as it was supposed to.

The Hunts, who already had a sizable family with two daughters and a son who were still living at home at the time, invited Seth to come in with them not long after the reunion.

Despite the initial adjustment being difficult, they eventually discovered their communication patterns, and cohabitation became second nature to them.

The Hunts formally adopted Seth a year later.

In a Collin County courthouse, Seth, the Hunt family, and a few of their loved ones gathered. They all legally became one family at that point.

Robert Hunt told the judge, “I knew he was a part of our family from the first moment I saw the interview. “All we’re doing is making it legal. He is our child.

Seth made the choice to rename himself. His new name, Logan Hunt, honors the surname of the family that gave him the greatest gift of all: a place to call home.

Logan exclaimed, “It feels fantastic. I feel at calm, like.
