When a little puppy was found by a construction crew in a site close to London’s Canary Wharf, they had no idea what they had stumbled across. The infant was imprisoned at the base of a hill coated in dirt and plastic shards. The four-legged monster was initially mistaken for a human, but the writers were never told what it was.
Thanks to their foresight in contacting the Essex Wildlife Hospital, the little guy’s rescuers were able to pick him up just in time. The identity of the little puppy baffled rescuers, despite their prior experience working with wildlife.
Su Schwar, the hospital’s manager, said: “It was quite old and in poor shape, but is OK now. If it hadn’t been found, it would have had a rather horrific end. We felt sorry for him because he had been totally caught and was terrified.
How soon he was able to locate is quite astonishing. We are overjoyed that this little man got the help he needed at the right moment.
