Woman grieving loss of husband is reunited with son they put up for adoption 30 years earlier

Janice Hoy didn’t believe she had the experience or resources to care for a child at the age of 17.

So, after giving birth to her child in December 1987, she made the decision to place the child for adoption.

Hoy said to the CBC, “He was perfect. “He was gorgeous.”

Hoy said to the CBC, “He was perfect. He was gorgeous. Before crying and returning home, Hoy cuddled and fed her infant.

Until she and the child’s father, Earl Strong, signed documents renunciating their parental rights, she continued to visit the child.

“I went multiple times every day. I would talk to him as we sat together. I explained to him that I was still a child myself,” stated Hoy.

“I apologized to him and told him I loved him. I assured the infant that he could always count on me to be where I was. I wouldn’t want my name changed. And I hoped one day he would be motivated to look for me.

Hoy and Strong decided to stick together and pursue jobs as firefighters and registered nurses, respectively.

They eventually got married and had three boys, but they kept the adoption of the kid a secret.

My filthy little secret was this. I was humiliated or embarrassed about it,” Hoy remarked.

Hoy nevertheless took some time each year on her son’s birthday to grieve in private.

She came up with a strategy with her husband to find their missing son.

They decided to hold off till their youngest was 16 years old and cognitively capable.

Happy birthday, and congratulations on your next outstanding achievements! Your intellect, sense of humor, and attitude will crack so many…

In case her kid was seeking for her, Hoy registered her name with the authorities in secret.

In this manner, he could locate her.

Sadly, Strong perished in 2018 when his snowmobile slid off the ice on Ontario’s Sturgeon Lake.

Hoy was receiving treatment after being treated for depression, and she was advised that she needed to face the loss of both her firstborn and her husband.

With the aid of an adoption counselor, Hoy was able to locate her son.

I’m your birth mother, hello. I’ve been hoping to hear from you for my entire life—your entire life. She messaged him, “I hope you’ll text me back.

It turns out that he has been waiting to hear the message all his life.

Kevin Ferguson stated, “I’ve been waiting my entire life for this message. “My mind is constantly racing with questions. So who are you? From where do you hail? What is our history? Have I got siblings?

Ferguson and Hoy were barely a 15-minute drive apart. If they had ever met, the two pondered. Hoy told her sons the news and ultimately ran into Ferguson.

Hoy remarked, “I knew I loved him the moment I first saw him.”

Ferguson was shocked by how much he and his biological brothers looked alike. He particularly resembled Blake, Hoy’s second-oldest son.

“I felt as though I were seeing in a mirror. It shocked me. I turned to face my long-lost brother. He resembled my father. He had my father’s voice. He behaved like my father. And I thought, “This is my dad 2.0” when I looked at Kevin and his awful facial hair and how short he was. It simply gave me the pleasant, cuddly sensation that he belonged. This is my father’s farewell gift to me.

Even though 32 years have passed, this family is still enjoying catching up and getting closer.
