When a couple adopts a dog from a shelter, they discover that he is their dog’s sibling.

Sometimes individuals see dogs at shelters and instantly feel compelled to adopt them.

But after one couple took in a rescue, they made a startling discovery that demonstrated it was indeed fate.

Recovering Wes
Alyssa DeLuca and her boyfriend Zachary Chin stumbled across a Trenton Animals Rock Facebook post on December 15, 2021, and they spotted something familiar about one of their available puppies.

A Chow Chow/Shar Pei hybrid named Max that was looking for a home had a striking resemblance to Zachary’s dog, Arthur.

Alyssa and Zack weren’t intending to have another dog, but they felt they had to give the dog a home because his owners were unable to care for him because of their work schedules.

Zack remarked something along the lines of, “Well, you know what we have to do now — we have to save him,” after reading the description and turning to face me. The Dodo was informed by Alyssa.

They traveled five hours to adopt Max, whom they called “Wes,” according to a Facebook post by Alyssa. It’s a good thing they got Wes out as quickly as they could since she told The Dodo that he was “terrified” in the shelter and “shivering in his kennel.”

Us and Arthur
As they brought Wes home, he grew close to his doppelgänger, Arthur.

Alyssa said on Facebook, “Wes and Arthur were apprehensive of each other at first, but after a few months, they became inseparable.” They do everything together, even stroll and sleep together.

They had relatively distinct personalities while having such similar looks, yet they complimented each other perfectly and were great friends.

The Dodo quoted her as saying, “We would always remark that they were the’same dog in a different typeface’ because of how similar they looked and, while having many variations, their behaviours were also extremely similar.

Wes and Arthur actually had more in common than anyone could have ever thought, it turned out.

An amazing coincidence
The couple purchased the two dogs’ DNA test kits from Embark Vet last year. While they wanted to be certain of the dog breed that Wes was, Arthur’s was done for health-related reasons.

They were shocked to learn, after receiving the test results, that Wes and Arthur were truly brothers!

After being in a state of shock, they discovered that by saving Wes from the shelter, they had accidentally brought together two long-lost siblings.

Wes was reunited with his brother, with whom he has grown very close, and will now be able to live a peaceful life with his best friend/brother by his side, Alyssa told The Dodo. “It feels great knowing that not only did we rescue Wes and give him the life that he’s always deserved, but that he was also united with his brother, who he’s become so close with,” she said.

“Thank you to Embark for helping us understand the biggest coincidence of our dogs truly being brothers,” she posted on Facebook. “Thank you to Trenton Animals Rock for all of the work that you do and for bringing us to the loveliest and most misunderstood dog.”

Quite a touching tale. Wes and Arthur, brothers, have now been reunited thanks in large part to this adoption!
