People who work in law enforcement are frequently thought of as tough.
They must be, of course. They need all that fortitude to catch the nasty guys who are lurking about us.
So we apply the same principle to the K9 dogs who support these police.
The majority of K9 unit canines are large, strong, and expert workers. Even at great distances, they can detect danger or the person they need to save.
One of those K9 dogs who is always prepared for duty is Sonny.
Corporal Jason Frey of the Clinton Police Department in Connecticut is his paw-rent. He claimed that Sonny was constantly prepared to report for duty and enter full-on “police” mode. Sonny would rush inside the patrol car whenever he saw Jason in his police outfit.
Sonny was the ideal match for Jason.
He admitted to The Dodo that he occasionally vented, and it appeared that Sonny was paying attention. Jason would frequently answer to him (in barks, of course) to let him know he understood him since he could tell when Jason was happy or angry.
Sonny, however, instantly flips off his “police” switch as they get home.
He becomes a loving big brother to Reagan, his younger sister. The “whole world” for Jason and his wife Lainey was Sonny, but after Lainey gave birth to their daughter, everything changed.
They were first concerned about Sonny’s potential reactions to no longer being the “baby.”
They were taken aback by how quickly he adapted to being around a baby. Sonny was incredibly kind and gentle with his younger sister, in contrast to his harsh “police” demeanor.
With his tolerance toward Reagan, you can see how deeply he cares for her.
He left her be, whether she was playing with his paws, ears, or tail. When she climbed all over him, he did not even move. His consideration for Reagan demonstrated his understanding that he was already a big brother.
He takes care of his younger sister with the same vigor and concern as he does his job.
Sonny used to lie down and see his little sister playing. Reagan appeared to be enjoying every moment as he would cuddle up close to her or softly lick her cheek.
Reagan would adoringly gaze at their picture while her father and older brother weren’t present.
Lainey photographed this scene while wondering why their young daughter suddenly became quiet. When she went to check on her, Reagan was fixed on a picture of Jason and Sonny. It’s as though she was aware that they were both at work but was yet affected by their presence in the picture.
Jason and Lainey felt their new daughter would be in good care because they had just welcomed another girl.
Like with Reagan, Sonny took care of the new infant. But this time, the older “siblings” are now assisting one another in caring for the new member of the family. Knowing that their younger sister would be secure would make us happy just to think about it.
