Brian and Starla Sullivan of Renton, Washington, USA, discovered a few years ago that their rent was too high for them and that they couldn’t pay it.
Instead of giving up, they devised an unorthodox solution: the family relocated to a school bus.
When Starla suggested that Brian move to live on a school bus, he assumed she was joking.
However, as she informed him of all the advantages of this venture, he understood that it is, in fact, the finest alternative for their family.
They eventually decided to buy an old school bus for $2,800 and relocate with their three children, Charlie (3 years old), Henry (2 years old), and Lincoln (3 months old).
The family has spent a significant amount of time and money converting the bus into a comfortable living space.
However, their efforts soon yielded the first results.
The Sullivans have converted an old bus into a comfortable house complete with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen.
They also managed to create a wonderful bathroom with a complete bathtub.
The undeniable advantage is that the family now pays $500 per month in rent, which is one-third of what they previously paid for their modest flats.
Other costs, such as power and water, have decreased, allowing the couple to save for their children’s education.
Another advantage of shifting to less expensive accommodation was that Brian no longer needed to work extra hours to pay his rent and could now spend more time with his wife and children.
The Sullivans are extremely happy in their bus, and they admit that if they ever decide to move again, they will most likely select an exotic location rather than a simple apartment.
