The judges are less than impressed when this father announces that he will be playing one of the tunes that has been covered the most in recent memory. Once the first note is played, even Simon Cowell is rendered mute. The Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen first made “Hallelujah” known in 1984 on his album “Various Positions,” but it wasn’t until John Cale’s 1991 performance that the song gained widespread recognition.

However, the version that most of us are familiar with is L. assembly member Jeff Buckley’s number-one song from 1994. Since Buckley’s unpretentiousshow won us over, the strain has been canned and played by over 300 contrastive melodic performers.

In this 2012 X Factor audition, American contestant Jeffery Adam Gutt creates the masterpiece for the most inspirational generalization. Gutt claims that his 4-year-old son is the driving force for his decision to audition. This is a feat that any descendent would be quite proud of.
