The dog, named lossom, was found in Greece by an OrphanPet volunteer. She had been walking the streets for weeks, if not months, as a stray. The poor puppy was in terrible shape.
A chain wire had been buried in her tail for a very long time. The chain was so tightly wrapped around her tail that it grew incredibly swollen.
The situation was made worse by the fact that she was covered with thousands of ticks. They took a blood sample and found that the tick bites had caused her blood to become incredibly thin. If they hadn’t saved her, she wouldn’t have survived for very long. They understood they were running out of time to help Blossom and had to move immediately.
After getting her inside, they had to amputate her tail and give her a blood transfusion. It took them about a week to get rid of every last dead tick, despite their careful and deliberate efforts to remove as many of them as they could one by one.
Her metamorphosis is astounding in every way. She is presently in excellent health and has met several new canine companions. The best part is that she got adopted!
Now that she has found her forever home, she is enjoying her second chance at life. If this volunteer hadn’t located her and brought her in, she wouldn’t have survived. Thank God for the compassionate rescues at OrphanPet!
