Snake asks man for drink of water on an extremely hot day

What is your first reaction when you see a snake?

Most of us would scream, run, or freeze because of fear. After all, we know snakes as scary and dangerous.

However, these animals are actually shy and would rather hide than attack. That’s why we should leave them alone so they won’t feel threatened or provoked.

Sometimes, there are snakes that choose to get closer to humans to ask for help.

In a video compilation from The Dodo, we see three rather adorable snake encounters that will make you say “awwww.’

Grandpa and the diamondback water snake

In the first clip, we see an elderly man sitting down near a lake. It was noticeable that his pants were taped.

According to him, he didn’t want his friend slithering up his pants. With his age, he might hurt himself if something like this happens.

He was waiting for a beautiful diamondback snake and after a while, she did come near him.

She was very careful as she slithered on his leg, slowly getting the fish that he gave her. Just then, she went back to the water carefully while allowing the kind man to guide her.

The man was thrilled because he felt that the snake also considers him a friend.

A snake in the loo

A few people cleaned a vacant home, and suddenly, they saw a still-sleepy snake look at them from the toilet.

Of course, they were all frightened.

Good thing they had the right tool they could use to catch the snake and set it free.

The snake was quite calm and after a few unsuccessful attempts; the man caught the snake.

They were all shocked because it was quite large.

Once outside, they put the snake in a pillowcase, drove further, and gave him back his freedom.

Indeed, the snake went on without looking back.

Can I have some water, please?

Because of the drought in Southern India, a cobra had to do the unthinkable to survive.

It shocked the townspeople as they saw a full-grown cobra slithered into the city. Even if there were people around, the cobra still got closer.

You see that he was slowly getting near where the people were. The snake didn’t seem alert or ready to make a move to strike.

The cobra looked weak and thirsty.

It was as if the people knew the snake was thirsty. Instead of killing it, one brave man gave the cobra water.

True enough, the cobra drank the refreshing water.

Most people perceive snakes as a threat. Some might even act quickly and strike first.

We seldom forget that snakes are living creatures, and sometimes, they only want to ask for help.

It’s not just snakes. In some places, there were reports of koalas, deers, and squirrels coming up to random people and asking for water.

Footages of people helping animals are such a rare and precious sight. It’s something that will make you smile and know that we do care for each other.

After all, we are all here to help each other.
