For almost nine months, Eliza Jamkochian Bahneman, 36, and her husband Erik, 41, struggled to conceive before receiving some wonderful news. The woman was due to become a mother since she was pregnant.
Like any new mother would be, she was thrilled. Eliza quickly told her family the wonderful news, and they were all overjoyed for the happy pair.
At the time, Eliza was happy to finally have her own children because all of her sisters and relatives already had their own families.
It would be impossible for her to become pregnant at her age, but she was given a miracle. Eliza and her husband are overjoyed to be parents to a baby girl, and they couldn’t be more grateful.
Everything was simply great, and everyone could not wait to welcome the new family member in a few months.
Eliza was ready to give birth on the scheduled day since she had planned ahead. Naturally though, her infant had other plans.
Little Isabella, often known as Bella, was born a month early rather than on the scheduled day. Eliza and Erik are prepared for their daughter’s earlier arrival despite the change in schedule.
Isabella was born in October 2018 following a 12-hour labor. Although she was little, there were other unique qualities about her as well.
Eliza discovered the response was not what she anticipated it would be when her daughter was born.
A different scenario, one where celebratory shouts and smiles were reserved only for her and her child, played out in her head.
She did not experience the eerie silence and depressing mood after her kid was born. Later, she learns that there was a justification for everyone’s surprise responses.
When Eliza noticed the expressions on the people in the delivery room, her heart fell.
When they saw the new baby who had just entered their life, they appeared bewildered, dejected, and unable to smile. And there was a rationale for everything.
Treacher-Collins syndrome, a hereditary disorder that impairs the growth of the facial bones and results in malformations, was present from birth in little Bella.
In addition, Bella’s illness caused other problems.
The infant also had a narrow airway, microtia, a hard and soft cleft palate, a small and sunken jaw, and hearing impairments.
“When she was born, I observed a very little folded ear, but I didn’t think much of it because I had heard that newborns had an odd appearance. But when I took in my surroundings, I realized something was off. My mother and husband were bewildered and afraid, and no one was applauding me. The doctor entered the room, and then there was an odd silence. I was clueless as to what was happening.
But a mother’s love goes beyond just outward manifestation. It is unwavering, regardless of who you are or what you own.
When Eliza was finally able to hold Isabella, her only thought was how glad she was to finally meet her daughter.
I at last got to hold Isabella, and she was different. But as soon as I met her, I felt in love and knew everything would be well.
Despite being unique, Isabella’s parents still adore her. It is to be expected that others would gawk at their daughter’s peculiar looks, but this won’t stop them from showering her with affection.
“I was aware that my experience as a mother would be unique. But I was aware that my newborn needed to be honored. I was prepared to discuss her, respond to inquiries, and spread awareness of her illness, Eliza said.
Isabella continues to be an outgoing youngster despite her illness and some people’s reactions to her looks.
Isabella is very loving, energetic, and full of life. She is really sharp and tough. She enjoys being the center of attention and is eager to learn; she is vivacious and enthusiastic, according to Eliza.
Despite having a unique appearance, Isabella brings her parents happiness and delight.
