It’s not the easiest thing in the world to decide to become a foster parent. In truth, adopting children who aren’t your own by birth requires a person with a tremendous amount of courage and an even larger heart.
It takes all of that and more to adopt them. Most people who decide to adopt only wish to adopt infants or small children when they do so. It’s not a good feeling to have when it makes a lot of teenagers feel like the final choice.
Fortunately, this tale is quite different.
A woman expressed a different viewpoint in a story that has received more than 1.3 million views on social media. She had a strong desire to assist children in foster care.
She went above and beyond what the majority of people would do.
You can hear a young man named Shantell mention at the beginning of this film that as foster children become older, they stop believing that they will ever be adopted.
As previously stated, most people are drawn to babies and young children. However, it is a fact that increasingly older kids simply long for a true family and home.
Then, a second young guy named Chris talks about how, for a while, being in a foster home that wasn’t working out made him feel quite uncomfortable.
He would need the guts to tell his social worker that he didn’t think it was a good fit. That was very upsetting and very difficult for him.
Then Sharon, a kind woman, entered their life.
Shantell and Chris were both attracted to Sharon. They had endured a lot, and she felt deep sympathy and compassion for them.
She adopted them instead of taking on another foster parent role.
She was committed to instilling love and acceptance in them. As Sharon clarified, she wished to demonstrate to them what a true family was like.
Additionally, she wished to demonstrate to them what it was like to have a supporter in their lives.
She was completely committed to improving their lives.
Shantell acknowledges that he was difficult to his adoptive mother.
When difficulties arose, his first reaction was to run away. Sharon, though, would patiently guide him through the issue.
He continued by saying that even just having someone present who was understanding and patient made a huge difference. Shantell had a troubled past and was a very irate child.
But with time, he came to understand that his mother really did love him.
Chris struggled to put his faith in others.
However, he claimed that with time, he too came to understand that Sharon’s love was unwavering. She remained committed to their lives and futures even when times were difficult.
Lex is the third teen that Sharon adopted.
He admitted that he initially detested his new mother. But it didn’t take long for him to come to a realization once she started supporting him wholeheartedly and going to all of his games.
They endured numerous difficulties, according to Sharon, over the years.
But things started to come together with her steadfast support and the boys developing trust. All three of these men are doing well today and contributing to society in positive ways.

Sharon advises those looking to adopt to not automatically disregard teenagers near the conclusion of the film.
Yes, it isn’t always simple. But the payoff is enormous in the end.
