Elderly woman reunites with beloved dog after spending days in the hospital

Our pets rely on us. Not only to be fed and have their basic needs met, but for companionship and love.

That’s why our pets can get upset when we are away for an extended period of time.

Even if someone else steps in to make sure they have food, water, and some company. Your pet doesn’t want someone else to care for them, they just want you.

“Dogs are social animals and having their person leave them will certainly have an effect on them initially. However, they’re also very adaptable creatures who will adjust to having you not around with a good amount of preparation,” JetPet Resort writes.

TikTok user luu_sia’s was left to care for her abuela’s dog when Abuela went was in the hospital for several days.

The pup was in perfectly good hands.

But they weren’t Abuela’s hands. So, the doggy missed her mom a whole lot.

Their joyful reunion, which was caught on video, will bring a tear to your eye. I’m not sure who’s more excited: Abuela or her dog.

The video shows the dog barking before Abuela even gets out of the car. When luu_sia finally opens the door, the tiny dog rushes to Abuela, wagging its tail as fast as it possibly can.

The dog jumps into the car and into Abuela’s arms. Abuela is grinning ear to ear at this point.

She couldn’t be more excited to see her pup.

And her pup was beyond excited to see her. Abuela hugs her pup close to her while saying sweet things to it.

The pup nuzzles his face up against Abuela’s, and he gives her lots of kisses. The pup just keeps wiggling about out of happiness.

The doggo couldn’t have been more excited to be back in Abuela’s arms. That video ended up going viral and was viewed more than 630,000 times.

Apparently, the dog had been constantly searching for Abuela when she was gone.

And Abuela missed her dog too. She couldn’t wait to get home to her.

They were both very thankful that Abuela’s granddaughter was able to take good care of Abuela’s dog while she was in the hospital.

“Having a dependable and responsible family member who has the time to help care for your four-legged-family member may not be easy, but even if you don’t have someone like this available when you need them, there are other ways to find your pup care,” Jet Pet Resort explains.

You could ask a neighbor to step in and look after your dog or place your dog with an animal boarding company.

Either way, it’s important to have someone trustworthy to care for the dog when you’re away.

This way, you and your dog can have peace of mind knowing that they’ll be safe until you’re together again.
