Brave, loyal dog saves owner’s life from mountain lion attack: ‘My dog is my hero’

We all love a cute moment.

Whether it has puppies, babies, or both, we just can’t help but “awww” when we see something that sufficiently fills our “cute tanks” up for the day. Marketing agencies know this and LOVE to use cute animals to sell products to us. While some might get upset with their motivations, we still get something out of the deal – a chance to see something cute!

The 2014 Superbowl had one of these moments.

If you are one of the people who loves the Superbowl (even if it’s just for the commercials), then you probably remember the special ad that played in the 2014 game between the Broncos and the Seahawks. While you may not remember the game at all, you probably remember the commercial that had the cutest little puppy and Clydesdale horse. It was dubbed “Best Buds” and captured the hearts of millions.

The commercial followed the story of two unlikely friends becoming “buds.”

After the horse and dog met, they were repeatedly taken away from each other. The human owners, a woman who owned the dog and a man who owned the horse, had little flirts all the while. Eventually, the horse had enough and broke out in order to see his puppy friend, bringing the two humans together in the process. Puppies, horses, love, and beer, what more could you ask for?

After 6 years of waiting, we finally have another segment of the animal friendship!

We all love a good sequel! Budweiser knew that America had fallen in love with the two friends and wanted more. We just need to know what happened after the last one ended, right? Well, they don’t disappoint as we get to see the dog and horse again.

Opening with a classic song, we are ready to watch the reunion.

The entire commercial is geared towards the worldwide pandemic. Opening with “Don’t Stop Me Now” and an empty bar, it nods to the fact that many places are still closed. The commercial originally aired in June, right before summer was in full swing.

As different shop owners are seen “reopening” their stores, the connection is made clear.

We get to see the little yellow lab waking up from a nap and taking off running down the road. Crossing fences, roads, and more, the little dog is on his way to see something (or someone). Cutting to the Clydesdale, the horse and his friends are seen galloping, jumping over fences, and finally, coming around a corner to see his friend, the pup.

The entire commercial is just one big statement asking people to be responsible.

Summed up in the final screen text on the video, it says:

“We can’t wait to see our buds. But when we do, let’s do it safely.”

This funny nod to the social distancing requirements across the world seems like it fits in perfectly with the reunion of the two friends – just two “buds” who just want to be close.
