There will always be employees at a firm who are devoted to their work and loyal, seldom missing a day of work. But after working for the firm for 27 years, can you fathom never missing a shift?
Some people would think that this is impossible, but Kevin Ford, a Burger King employee at the McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas, does not.
For 27 years, Kevin worked in the food sector, and during that period, he never missed a day of work. He presently works for the food service firm HMSHost.
Kevin has devotedly and loyally worked every shift for his employer for over three decades. Since being granted custody of his two children, he has been employed by fast food restaurants.
Kevin just celebrated 27 years of employment, and his coworkers gave him a present in recognition.
His employees had given him a goodie bag as a token of their appreciation for him showing up for every shift. He joyfully accepted it and proudly displayed his goods.
Kevin pulled out two rolls of Lifesavers, a bag of Reese’s chocolate, pencils, a movie ticket, and said, “This is very wonderful, from Starbucks, thank you guys.”
He released the video on social media because he was so moved by the gesture. Surprisingly, nearly 2 million people viewed the video.
When his tale went viral online, many people felt that the devoted worker deserved much more than simply a goodie bag. He worked diligently for over three decades, never ever skipping a single shift.
Because of how uncommon employees like Kevin are, his genuineness and dedication are worth more than simply a gift bag.
Seryna, Kevin’s daughter, set up a GoFundMe campaign for her father.
She said on GoFundMe that “[my dad] first started working at this job as a single father when he obtained custody of me and my elder sister 27 years ago.”
She continued by describing how the man had, for the last 27 years, raised both her and her sister through his employment.
The great health insurance that was offered via this business since it was unionized, which got all four of his children through high school and college with complete healthcare coverage, led him to continue working here as our family grew and he remarried. Despite the fact that he appears youthful, my father is still employed here since leaving would mean losing his retirement.
She hoped to gather money to enable her father to go to see her and her family by purchasing an airline ticket.
For Kevin, donations flooded in.
His GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $329,000 as of this writing. For Seryna and her father, the contributions have been overwhelmingly kind. Kevin was astonished by the amount of support and attention he received, and he found it hard to believe that it was all happening to him.
It’s amazing, he remarked. It is both intimidating and stunning. I’m simply attempting to process everything. I really appreciate everything so much.
Even though the generous guy received more than he had requested, he will always be grateful for the straightforward but thoughtful present from his employees.
When asked about the gift bag, he replied, “I was simply thanking gratitude for what I received. “I was grateful for anything. I am appreciative of the simple things.
