The animal had been wandering for who knows how long with its head stuck in a plastic container, preventing it from eating. A group of amateur photographers captured the animal’s predicament and contacted the authorities, rescuing the stunted wolf from certain death. The incident took place in Nagpur next to a lake when a group of photographers went out to photograph the local wildlife, including Indian wolves, an endangered species whose survival is threatened by locals’ misunderstanding of its existence.
Tanay Panpalia, a 26-year-old accountant from Nagpur, and his friends were taking pictures when they noticed some wolves coming. One of the wolves caught their attention since it was a young, extremely rickety, and weak wolf with its head jammed in a plastic container.
They concluded that the animal’s vulnerability and stumbling put it in risk. Tanay and his friends guessed that he had been stuck with his head stuck for days or maybe weeks at a period, preventing him from eating enough food because he was so underweight in compared to the other animals in the herd.
Tanay decided to proceed in the wolf’s direction while keeping a safe distance from the other members of the pack because there were only three males and they could be attacked at any time.
They dialed the Nagpur Forest Department and asked for professional help in saving the sick animal. A few hours later, a rescue team showed up to take care of the problem and ease the wolf’s agony.
It was a plastic container, the same kind that the neighborhood peasants routinely use to store food in their homes. Villagers routinely dispose of empty containers, which could lead to encounters with wild animals.
The wolf had put his head inside the container to eat some remaining food, and when he tried to take it out, he was unable to do so, according to the authorities. The fact that the container had apertures that allowed him to breathe and drink some water saved his life since without them, he would have died in a couple of days.
Nagpur forest officers used a rescue tool to restrain the animal as they removed the jar from its head.
The wolf barely attempted to fight since it was so powerless. It was freed in a brief amount of time. The rescuers gave him some water to assist lower his body temperature, and after that they released him to return to his pack.

The roughly three-hour long rescue operation was successful overall. I was disappointed to witness such a beautiful animal get entangled and almost die as a result of human ignorance.
