German Shepherd Higgins is a devoted dog who was eagerly welcomed as a puppy. But a few days after being adopted, the devastated dog fled back to the animal shelter. Higgins was not content in his new home, and no one had come seeking for him either, the workers concluded.
But nearly six and a half years have passed since that day, and Higgins is still confined to the refuge. According to the volunteers of The Humane Society of Preble County in Ohio, poor Higgins has been abandoned and passed over numerous times and has already spent 2381 days in the shelter.
As he spends the entire day alone in a corner, his once-fun personality has evolved into one of melancholy. Higgins’ prospects of finding a home have significantly decreased as he gets older. The shelter has pleaded with people to spare this adorable and endearing youngster from the suffering of an unfulfilled existence.
