ABANDONED PUPPY FOUND ALONE AT AIRPORT WITH NOTE FROM HIS OWNER SAYING SHE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO LEAVE HIM BEHIND

Chewy, a three-month-old Chihuahua, was found by a security guard at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. He was abandoned in a bathroom at the airport.

Apparently, Chewy’s owner ran away to escape an abusive relationship. Unfortunately, his owner can’t take him on the plane, so she decides to leave a letter to Chewy in the hope that someone with a good heart will find him.

The letter read, “Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart, but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting, and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much. Please love and take care of him.”

Chewy needed immediate medical attention for a head trauma. To help him, the airport staff reached out to Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, a foster-based local non-profit center.

Fortunately, the rescue center took Chewy in, and he was rushed to an emergency vet clinic. Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, or CMDR, accepts senior and special needs dogs and takes care of them while looking for the dogs’ permanent homes.

Chewy made a full recovery quickly, his story touched so many hearts, and it wasn’t long before the shelter found a home for him.

Today, Gilliam wonders how many other owners and pets are currently victims of domestic violence and in abusive relationships. To help those who have suffered abuse, she now shares Chewy’s story to show that victims can find a safe haven in the CMDR.
