Anyone who has ever owned a cat knows that we do not truly own them; we merely coexist with them, and if we’re lucky, they accept us as part of their family.
Cats are intelligent and self-reliant; they know what they want and don’t want.
And when they desire something, they are determined to obtain it.
Consequently, it was not surprising when this stray kitten decided to join Beata and Marc’s family.
When Beata and her husband Marc first saw the kitten they later named Smucci, he was sprinting across their patio.
He was nothing more than a small black furball speeding by.He was extremely shy and has no desire to make human friends.
He only desired food and water, and he noticed that Beata and Marc’s patio had a water dish.He enjoyed the water, but he never allowed anyone to approach him.
Beata and Marc respected his wishes and did not attempt to capture him, but they did leave him food so he wouldn’t starve and so they could begin to earn his trust.
They also began keeping an eye out for him and any potential siblings, but they never spotted his mother or any siblings.
Later, Smucci returned to the patio in search of additional food, which the couple was happy to provide.
This was the beginning of a tentative friendship that grew stronger over time.Smucci returned on a daily basis and accepted food from the couple. After a while, he began directly requesting food whenever he spotted them.
He gradually began to trust Beata and Marc, but he maintained his distance from everyone else.
Eventually, their relationship grew so strong that Smucci decided it was time to move in together.
“Every time we opened the patio door, he attempted to enter the home,” Beata told Love Meow.
When the kitten began sneaking into the couple’s home, they realized he had chosen them to be his forever family, and they gladly accepted his choice.
They ensured that Smucci did not have a secret family, had him examined by a veterinarian, and then introduced him gently to their dog Haruki, who quickly became a great friend to the new sibling.Smucci knew exactly what he was doing when he adopted his new parents.
He now has a beautiful home, a loving brother, and all the love he could ever desire.
He’s a very fortunate kitten, and we’re certain he’s grateful for his wonderful family every single day.
