18-year-old dog finally found a loving home after years of searching

Dogs taken to an animal shelter will usually find a home within a few weeks. The permanent home that Pitbulls and other special canines seek may never become available. More than 3.1 million dogs are brought into shelters across the country each year, but only 2 million of them find new homes. Among the 1.1 million pets, older dogs have the most difficulty.

This is especially true for Kane, a Pitbull, a breed that has a bad reputation due to unethical owners. As a result, when the 18-year-old canine arrived at the shelter, the situation did not appear promising. Because of his advanced age, any family who adopts him would also be responsible for his medical needs. The poor dog was suffering from severe arthritis, was blind in one eye, and had poor vision in the other.

Regardless of his age or the rising medical costs, the adorable boy required a loving home. Carole Sandy, his foster mother, described him as a wonderful companion. He’s very approachable. He is extremely straightforward.

Carole and the staff at the shelter assisted the elderly dog. They discussed him and even broke the story about Kane on their social media pages. Carole was contacted after the caring family learned about the elderly dog.

Kane was adopted by Phil and Ewa Halverson, who couldn’t be happier to have him as a member of their family. Because of the efforts of his foster mother and the shelter, Kane was able to spend his final days in joy and harmony.
