Parental care of the animal babies lies mainly on mothers. Many of them need their mother’s care for a very short time, however, it doesn’t concern hippos as the baby hippos need their mother’s care for at least 1 year.
The hero of our story needs her mother’s care every minute of her life. Every time she noticed that she was alone she started to call out to her mother. Even when she wasn’t with her mother she needed to be near some of her relatives. The baby felt safe when she was surrounded by some of her family members.
When they slept the baby hippo found her cozy place near her mother and was very attentive that no one left her alone there. But her mother managed to leave her there for a while and went swimming in the water alone while her baby was sleeping quietly.
