Simon stared at Jonathan as soon as Jonathan and Charlotte entered the “Britain’s Got Talent” stage and assumed that the audition would be a complete waste of time.
To one of the other judges, he said in a whisper, “Just when you think it can’t get any worse.”
Simon, however, was unaware that this stunt would become viral on YouTube, ranking among the most popular videos ever.
Jonathan, 17, claimed that because of his size, he had always been the target of bullying, and Charlotte, 16, took on the role of his fear-filled caretaker.
Three months before the audition, Jonathan had a nervous breakdown as a result of the dire circumstances.
In the video below, Charlotte and Jonathan perform “The Prayer” with a combination of opera and pop music, but as hesitant Jonathan starts to sing, his talent and self-confidence soar!
When it came time to comment on their performance, Simon’s words were entirely different from how he had initially responded. His jaw literally hit the floor.
