Teenagers rush inside a burning house to rescue a trapped 90-year-old lady.

Teenagers aren’t permitted to accomplish a lot of things, but they are always permitted to help, let alone save a life.

A 90-year-old woman called Catherine Ritchie from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, was ready to get into bed more than three years ago when her home caught fire at approximately 9 PM.

She told Tulsa News, “I was getting ready for bed in the restroom when I turned around and the head of my bed was engulfed in flames.

Ritchie made an effort to douse the fire with blankets and pillows, but the smoke and heat got to her and she gave up. She therefore made the decision to request assistance by dialing 911 and pushing the emergency call button on her necklace.

She made every attempt to prevent the flames from engulfing her whole bedroom, but to no avail.

Before it’s too late, it’s time to vacate the property.

She didn’t waste any time in starting to seek for a way out. She started by repeatedly entering the closet, mistaking it for the hallway entrance. Ritchie was struggling to find a solution as she was running out of time and alternatives.

It was just a matter of time before she was fully suffocated by the dense smoke.

As luck would have it, four adolescent males who were close and spotted the smoke pouring from the house happened to be there. One of the teenagers said that they were simply hanging around in the neighborhood while deciding what to do.

The scent, according to one of them, was similar to burnt rubber. They thought someone was in trouble when they heard the home alarm go off.

Only one of the four teenagers, who ranged in age from 14 to 17, really knew Ritchie at the time of the occurrence, but they all volunteered to save her inside the blazing house.

Every second that passes counts.

By shattering the glass on the front door, they all started breaking in. While another boy rushed to the rear door and kicked it as hard as he could to open it, one of the boys phoned 911. A other teen went to the neighbors and requested an axe and assistance.

One of the lads swiftly broke through the rear entrance and started looking for Ritchie. Together, they are able to flee the burning house when he located the 90-year-old woman.

Ritchie said, “This young child was right there.” When I answered, “I can walk,” he grabbed me up and added, “We’re leaving here.”

Ritchie’s savior stated, “I just kind of heard her. “I walked over to the house’s right side, but nobody was there. She was in the hallway when I walked to the left side of the home, so I just grabbed her and brought her to Seth.

Before the firefighters had put out the house’s fire, everyone was secure. Ritchie was quite appreciative of what 16-year-old Dylan Wick, 14-year-old Nick Byrd, 16-year-old Seth Byrd, and 17-year-old Wyatt Hall done that evening.

Ritchie responded, “I have to ponder that.” Even at their young age, “they were just extraordinary.”
