Shelter Staff Shared Heartbreaking Photo to Show What Happened To Unwanted Dogs

Michele Boggs works at an animal shelter and cares for the dogs that come there every day. However, due to overcrowding, she has to say goodbye to many of them. She shared a powerful photo with a letter from the dogs in bags in front of her, writes thepetneeds.

It’s a very serious reminder of what happens in animal shelters across North America because inconsiderate owners don’t spay their dogs, don’t take the time to properly care for and train them, or cruelly use them to make money or keep them company, and then abandon them when they no longer want them.

“The other puppy barely gets the used leash you left behind. My neckband was dirty and too small, but the lady removed it before sending me to the rainbow bridge. What if I hadn’t chewed your shoe? I wasn’t sure if it was leather but I had no bad intension. I was just amusing. You forgot to bring toys for the puppy. Would I still be home if I’d been polite? Throwing what I did in my face just made me feel ashamed and leave.”

“There are books and obedience teachers who would teach you to teach me to go to the door. Would I still be at home if I had not brought fleas into the house? Without flea medicine. I couldn’t get them out of my head when you left me outside for days.”

,,I wonder if I still be at home if I hadn’t been yelled at? I said, “I’m scared, I’m lonely, I’m here, I’m here! I want to be your best friend.”

,,Is it possible to still be at home if I had made you happy? I learned nothing from beating you.”

,,What if you had taken the time to take care of me and teach me how to behave?”

,,After about the first week, you stopped paying attention to me, but I spent the whole time waiting for you to love me.”

“Today I died. With love, your puppy.”

Michele wrote and shared this suggestion, adding that those who work in the shelters he knows are affected by what is happening. “Every one of us who cares in the shelter on a daily basis has cried for every one of these dogs. Some of us gave them one last kiss. One of us shared a meal with a dog he loved. In the end, we all cry for them. It’s not their fault. Sadly they are just paying the price.” She also warned, “If you don’t believe this is really happening, then you are not living in reality. They die every day by the thousands. Send this message to everyone, it’s time to stop animal cruelty.” the author urged.
