A man saw the incredible sight while lounging on his porch and soaking up the day. As sunrises touch the wings of a hummingbird, even the smallest features appear to be a rainbow (when it is in flight).
The man was watching a black hummingbird when he noticed the peculiar look. Such prism effects are very unlikely to be seen to the human eye. For a very long time, he has been intrigued by these rainbow gems, and in 2012, a little movie included some of his photographs of hummingbirds.
It was well known for being a huge success (it won 11 international awards including that of best film). He had never seen the wonderful prism effect before. Years later, he returned to snap another photo of it.
I decided to use my camera to record the same phenomenon, the photographer said. Nothing special is going on; all that can be seen is light moving across the wings of this unusual hummingbird.
