A young man made a bet with his friends that he would marry the overweight daughter of a local oligarch — but on the wedding day, the bride did something truly shocking

A young man and his pals wagered that he would wed the overweight daughter of a local oligarch; nonetheless, the bride did something genuinely startling on the wedding day.

Every guest froze, a glass fell, and the sound of glass shattering filled the stillness. Nobody knew what was going on or why the bride was acting in that manner. The groom was scarcely able to stand. He didn’t get the chance to express what he wanted to.

The guests stared at the bride in shock as the groom’s pals, who had placed the wager with him, abruptly stopped laughing.

He was youthful, attractive, wealthy, and extremely self-assured. He was well-liked by the elite and known as Alex in high society. He was the heir to a building empire.

A local oligarch’s daughter, Milena, was casually mentioned by one of his pals one evening while sipping a pricey glass of whiskey.

Her eyes welled up with tears of happiness when he proposed. The town was abuzz with talk about this surprise wedding as the preparations got underway.

There was silence in the packed church. Every attendee was there, including family friends, business associates, and significant others. Alex stood at the altar with assurance. Taking Milena’s hand, he said:

“You are everything to me, Milena. I swear to always love you, to treasure every smile, to be by your side through good times and bad.

Then she looked up, though. Despite her watery eyes, she said steadily:

“I don’t.”

The visitors exchanged perplexed glances. However, Milena went on:

“I believed I had discovered someone who saw past my appearance when I first met you. I believed you saw my soul and loved me for who I am.

The room went cold. There was a loud reverberation of glass cracking when a glass fell.

“I’ve learned the truth. I am aware that it was all a wager and a game.

The guests became uneasy. Everyone looked at Alex.

She went on plainly, “I know you placed a wager with your friends.” “That you desired to win me over and take me to the altar in order to obtain my father’s wealth.”

Milena’s father, who was seated in the first row, got up gradually. His bodyguards, three men in dark suits, rose behind him.

“Alex,” he remarked coolly, “I believe you are aware of the exit. You will be escorted by my men.

The groom was led out of the church by the bodyguards in a composed manner. The guests were unable to speak.

With her head held high and tears in her eyes, Milena stood at the altar. She faced the crowd:

“I would have married someone today. Rather, I evolved into the woman who made her own decisions.

The ensuing cheers were thunderous.
